Human nutrition and dietetics a fully licensed department dedicated to equip our future professionals with both up to date theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Our highly qualified staff offer excellent training on how to use up to date science to promote health, offer practical counselling and nutrition intervention in order to prevent, manage or cure some of the most dangerous lifestyle diseases that are our current challenge worldwide and promote health in general. We also encourage and support both our students and academic staff to conduct intense research on new studies and development of tools to help in nutrition management. This prepares our future nutritionists and dieticians to come up with creative ideas that can equip them to be future innovators, entrepreneurs and promote self-employment.
We also put tremendous emphasis on our undergraduate students on acquiring practical skills. Students are placed in industrial based learning (IBL) in clinical setting (hospital), community and field work, and agri-nutrition placement. This ensures all our students are well trained and have massive experience in whatever field they choose to pursue and excel in.
We have different facilities in our department that help in training and preparing our students for their future careers such as skills lab with a hospital setting, kitchen laboratory where students are trained how to prepare meals for lifestyle diseases management, the library stocked with different research papers and nutrition books both for the department and another main library for the whole institution.
